Lifelong friends Blair Jones, Jeff Tickle and JJ Gillenwater, all Bristol natives, recognized a gap in assisted living and memory care options for their own families: a community that reflected the values, care and quality of life they believed their own loved ones deserved. From that deeply personal vision, Oakmont at Gordon Park was born.

Since opening our doors in 2016, Oakmont has remained locally owned and operated, with the same commitment that inspired its beginning: to provide exceptional care in a place that feels warm, welcoming and connected to home. Many of our leaders and team members have been with us since the beginning, creating the familiarity, consistency and genuine relationships that mean so much to residents and their families.
Today, Oakmont continues to nurture mind, body and spirit through compassionate care, meaningful engagement, beautiful surroundings and the simple pleasures of everyday life. What began as a vision for their own families has become a community we're proud to share with yours.

The Location

Oakmont at Gordon Park is located at the “heart” of Bristol –only two blocks from the thoroughfare that unites the Virginia side of the city with its Tennessee counterpart. The grounds at Gordon Park are quiet and serene, with majestic oak trees and scenic mountain vistas on two sides. This location offers ready access to shopping, doctor’s offices and professional services, and the region’s leading hospital.

Bristol is a vibrant city – a regional hub drawing visitors from western Virginia and northern Tennessee for shopping, restaurants and medical care. Bristol is the home of NASCAR’s Bristol Motor Speedway, and is known as the “Birthplace of Country Music.”
